The George Viner Memorial Fund is a registered charitable trust. Charity number 328142. The charity also administers the Felix Dearden Memorial Prize
There are five Trustees:
Lionel
Morrison, OBE
Lionel has been in journalism and media training for over 40 years. During
his career he has set up newspapers, publications and journalism courses
specifically targeted at ethnic minorities. He has been the Chair of the
Trustees since the funds inception.
Jim
Boumelha
Jim is a Trustee and a member of the NUJ National Executive Council (NEC).
He is a founding member of the union's Black Members Council and an active
campaigner on the rights of Black journalists
Carole Plaster
Carole is the only daughter of George and Nancy Viner and continues
the family's involvement with the Trust.
Jeremy
Dear
Jeremy is the current General Secretary of the NUJ. He is a former
union President and NEC member.
Jeremy is the NUJ representative on the Board of Trustees.
