The Felix Dearden Memorial Prize

About Felix Dearden

| The Prize | 2002 Winner | Make a Donation | George Viner | Trustees |

On the 18th November 1987 a fire at Kings Cross underground station in London killed 31 people. Felix Dearden was among those who died. Felix was only 32 years old and a promising Reuters journalist.

Felix was an active member of the NUJ and involved in anti-racists campaigning. To commemorate her death, Riki and Peter Dearden Felix's local NUJ branch created the Felix Dearden Memorial Prize. The fund is administered by the George Viner Trustees.

On behalf of the Felix Dearden prize, the Trustees would like to thank Jerry Norton of Reuters, Singapore for his on going support.
